What we mean
Philosophy and training methodology
You don’t have to be a sailor to understand what ancient Egyptian pharaoh Amenemhet I noted in his writings: “The tongue of man is the rudder of his ship.” But what good are the biggest sail and the sleekest boat if we can’t position them properly in the wind? One should therefore know how to build a solid rudder before setting to sea. Or in other words: Only he who masters his speech reaches his goals in life. Or as the Greek poet Sophocles phrased it almost two thousand years later: “Good speech is that which succeeds in its aims.”
Today, another almost 2,000 years later, we at get it! see it exactly the same way: silence is golden only if you don’t know how to converse. That’s why we teach communication – speaking with all of your senses and in all facets. Or more precisely, communication in everyday work – on the telephone or in a meeting, in an internal conference or an external discussion with a customer, for groups or individuals, for employees and supervisors. We build – as Amenemhet I put it – rudders.
And we do that with infectious enthusiasm and with cutting-edge means and methods including, for example, active learning and group work, visualizations, moderations and presentations – and equally well by the way in German, French, English and Italian.
We got it – you get it: We don’t stage babblefests and we definitely don’t just send people packing at the end of the course. We work with lasting methods and seek a longer-term partnership with our clients. Because after all, training in communication is an investment that should be rewarded with a return on investment – and with zest on the part of course participants to set sail with a “good rudder”.
